The Communication Workers Union (CWU) has called on its members who collect, sort and deliver parcels and letters to take strike action on the following dates:

Friday 26 August 2022

Wednesday 31 August 2022

Thursday 8 September 2022

Friday 9 September 2022

We’re sorry this strike action is likely to cause you some disruption. We will be working to get our services back to normal as quickly as possible. Royal Mail has well-developed contingency plans, but we cannot fully replace the daily efforts of our frontline workforce. We’ll be doing what we can to keep services running, but you should expect significant disruption on dates when strike action is taking place.

There’s more information online at royalmail.com/latest-news but we wanted to provide you with some of the important information.

On days when strike action is taking place: We will Ship as many orders as possible but the delivery timeframe promise will be extended for an extra 1-2 working days due to limited collections and staff shortages at the main depots and delivery sorting hubs.

Business collections will resume on the next working day after a strike. If you require a faster delivery service please choose express delivery where possible as these orders will be shipped via DHL and there should be no delays to this delivery service*

*Please note: express delivery is Monday to Friday excluding weekends,  certain postcodes and areas are excluded from a DHL Express delivery (Northern Ireland/Scottish Highlands) and will need to be shipped via Royal Mail so can see delays in these areas on these strike days.
